Got a copy from Larry Behling “Air Machine Gun”. Very interesting book, well detailed and covers air machine guns used mostly in shooting galleries. Some patents are covered as well. Visit my page for some more details.

Mr. Behling has 7 books left as of May 7.

I added two more pages for Mr. Schaefer. He has been busy creating a few more airguns and modifiying his bullpup to sport a multi shot clip.
http://airgundevelopment.com/custombuild/schaefer3.html

Along with the clip he has also created a side lever breech. Looks really great!

Air Shotgun – Projectiles?

Got some small punchouts from work. We perforate metal for aeration flooring for grain drying. Size is .05″ diameter X .036″ metal thickness. I wonder if it could be used as a projectile as we have thousands of pounds of it every few days.

Anyone have some thoughts or have an air shotgun that can shed light on using this small metal punchouts as ammo?

Here is a picture with a .177 pellet for size.

I think I mentioned in a previous post that I was thinking of making an air shotgun. Again, if anyone has an air shotgun please send me some more information.

Thanks,

Pedro

Hello Airgun Enthusiasts,

I thought I would take a little time to update the blog. I have been working a lot of hours last few months and have had little time to make any updates to pages. Currently have some pictures waiting to be posted on a new build from Ola B. from Sweden. A few others pages also required updating.

I am hoping to be able to use a shop soon to work on my two air rifle builds. Not sure yet how my current employer will react when I inquire about using his shop. Other option is to use my dad’s shop, but is so much easier not having to drive 1/2 hour and have new machines available to you. I will let you know how I make out. I will add some pictures of the equipment used at my current employment.

It has been good that I could work a lot of extra hours on a project at home. Will help pay the tax man what I owe for taxes last year 🙁  – Oh well such is life in Canada or USA, you make money you owe taxes. Should be thankful we have employment!!

Please refer back to the page in about a month. I will try to start updating pages next week if I can. I will post the changed pages in the blog for easy access.

If you are building an airgun or have something related that you would enjoy sharing with the airgun world please contact me. I host builds, and will host other things of interest airgun related for FREE!!

Over the weekend I have been working on the website. Getting new pictures and some minor changes in place.

I have created a page for Hughes reservoir airgun build.

http://airgundevelopment.com/custombuild/hughes.html

Started to update a few pages. Schaefer’s bullpup is now shown on page:

http://airgundevelopment.com/custombuild/schaefer2.html

I have added a fourth page to Concept4 airgun build.

http://www.airgundevelopment.com/concept4pg4.html

I have updated some links on the pages.  Taking out the advertising on the bottom as it hasn’t been profitable.

Have decided to make advertising available to anyone in the airgun related business, USA or Canada. Please visit this page for more information.

I am personally looking forward to hearing more from Mr. Hughes about his rifle building. He has shown interest in sharing pictures so visit back in the next few weeks. Thanks for visiting the website. ~Pedro

Happy New Year – First Post of the Year

Hello Everyone!

Firstly hope everyone’s New Year is off to a good start. I am way behind in posting. Mostly due to having the flu for the entire two weeks over the holiday season. I was very dissappointed that I wasn’t able to do any airgun related building during that time. Instead, I spent most of my time in bed and missed out on all family gatherings and good food. Looking back now, to have our health is a blessing. That blessing comes from God!

Concept 4 – Project

I did get four tank adaptors/valves made by another company. I will post a new page soon with pictures of the stainless, cnc machines parts. Parts still need some work. I had an idea to change the design of the valve and may try to implement a different valve on one rifle to see if the valve design will be feasible.

Hughes – Buckley Airgun

I received an email today from a Mr. Hughes in the UK. He has built a rifle using Buckley’s design. Looks really nice in my opinion.  I will create a page for all his pictures soon. Below is a picture of the gun.  Mr. Hughes is working on another 25 shot repeater and it will be done early spring. I am looking forward to viewing the rifle and hope he will allow it to be posted here for all to enjoy.

Sweden – Bullpup

Our friend in Sweden, Mr. Schaefer has been quietly building a bullpup rifle. He recently sent me some images and will post a new page when I can. He again sent some building pictures and will post for all to enjoy.

Schaefer’s bullpup looks inspired by Buckley’s design. The reservoir design allows for many variations of building this rifle. Airtank can be in the back or front. The  hammer can open valve either  direction pending design and placement of the air hole opening.

I hope to be able to accomplish a lot of updates in the next two weeks. I have been working on a design for another company in the evenings so my time is limited. Hoping to wrap up that project and get focused all my projects.  Thanks for reading. Please feel free to comment or email. ~ Pedro

Brandon Gun Show & Concept 4 – Parts

Brandon Gun & Hobby Show

I made it home today from Brandon, a 2.5 hour drive. Not a far drive by any means, but with the temperature being -30 C (-22F) this morning makes it more risky. Weather warnings of wind chill are -40 to -45 C tonight.

The Brandon show was held in the Keystone Center. The Manitoba Room in which it was held is 26,000 square feet. Many vendors were there and of course many “buyers” taking in the show. Many rifles to choose from, from antique circa 1890’s to brand new. I must admit my ignorance when it comes to firearms. I was intrigued by a 50 caliber high power rifle. Was a huge rifle and for $6500 you could take it home! But my interests are in the airguns. One gentleman did have a booth featuring airguns. On his table, A 50 Cal. Dragon, Air Arms .22, BAM and an assortment of break barrels. I was amazed at how many men dropped by and said “WOW! what is that” when they saw the 50 Dragon. Most have no idea that airguns have come a long way since they were kids. I hope to attend more airgun only shows in the future.  Anyone know of any? Concept 4 – Airgun Build

This past week I have outsourced the valve assembly for the Buckley inspired “concept 4” build of mine. I do not have time to make all the parts and thought if I could get the most complicated part made before the holidays, I can focus on the action block, trigger, etc and hopefully if all goes well, have one or both airguns firing before the New Year. In the next few weeks before the New Year I will try to update the pages to keep everyone abreast.

Other…

I was in the yellow forum this past Friday (hardly seem to have time to stay up to date anymore with any online forums..) and found Dave G’s post on his work on his own airguns. I personally think that the “Trident” build is the better design. To me it seems to take a lot of design cues from a Crosman 2240? Just the way it functions. Anyways if you haven’t seen it here is the link…

I finally was able to get a start on my 50 Caliber airgun barrels. Please visit the page link below to get more information. I still have to size the actual inside bore and rifle it, but the material I bought had firstly need to be down sized and I found a way to do it!

It will take  me awhile to finish this project, so visit back! ~ Pedro
