O. Schaefer has started a new creation, a bolt action airgun using Buckley's design. Hopefully as he
completes the build he will send more information... Some more details available on TALON Tunes, link.
December 10, 2010, Mr. Schaefer supplied some content.
Barrel - .22cal choked Lothar Walther.
Barrel length 500mm, Length of gun: 940mm.
Weight: w/o scope 3200gr.
Valveseat is cut from a piece of acetal, and the valve pin is all steel.
The air bottle is attached to the receiver via a HM Buckley design offset adaptor,
that also incorporates a hole for a quick fill probe. Airbottle is a 280cc capacity,
fitted with a schrader valve so the bottle can be removed without having to empty it.
The bolt runs in brass bushings front and rear, just to give a smoother feel when reloading.
Bolt lift is 40 degrees, throw 35mm. The magazine is from a Crosman Marauder, 10shot, spring
loaded, and self indexing.
Trigger mechanism is adjustable for creep, and the whole mechanism can be removed as a complete
unit. The stock is made from 14 layers of plywood that I glued together. The stock design is pretty
much Daystate, and it has a "thumb shelf" so that I have the option to shoot it "thumb up" or the
ordinary way with thumb through the hole. As with all my builds they are basically variations of
HM Buckleys designs.

Schaefer sent some more pictures of his rifle nearly complete. Looking very nice!
I have left pictures in large format, click to see large image.

Email from Mr. Schaefer - My bolt action rifle is now finished! Late last
night I cut a trigger guard, and that was the last piece missing.
